GHMC inducts Branch Pruning and Shredding machines in its fleet

Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Dr. B. Rammohan said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has been adopting modern technology to provide better facilities to the citizens.

Speaking to media persons after inaugurating the Branch Pruning Machine and Shredding Machine at Indira Park on Tuesday, the Mayor said the new machines would facilitate cutting of tree branches without causing any disturbance to the regular movement of traffic on any road.

He said the machine would be quite useful in the ensuing Ganesh festival celebrations. He informed that the machines have been procured at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh on pilot basis.

He said these machines would also be deployed in all zones and circle offices in the coming days for effective implementation and to maintain greenery in the GHMC limits.

The Mayor also informed that the GHMC has planted around 50 lakhs plants in this Haritha Haram programme and most of the sponsorers from various corporate companies have provided the tree guards to GHMC under Corporate Social Responsibility.

Musheerabad MLA Dr. K. Lakshman, GHMC Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and senior officials of GHMC were also present on the occasion. (INN)
