Strike hits postal services in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Department of Posts on Tuesday informed that it was taking measures to minimise inconvenience to people caused due to participation in indefinite strike by one section of the Gramin Dak Sewak Union from August 16. It said there was interruption of Postal services of some extent in Telangana State.

In view of strike, as many Branch Post Offices are not functioning, the delivery to bulk addresses has been arranged from the concerned Sub Post Office by making special arrangements.

The delivery of any Registered Letter/Speed Post /Parcel etc., can be taken from the concerned Sub Post Office by producing any identity proof. Arrangements have been made for Payment of eMOs (Money Orders) from the concerned Sub Post Office.

Members of public who are having Post Office Savings Bank accounts standing open at Branch Post Offices, which are not functioning, can perform transactions from the nearest Sub Post Office. General public has been requested to contact nearby Superintendent of Post Offices / Postmaster / Sub Postmaster for any further information. (INN)
