Talasani questions Congress plans for No Trust Motion

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the Congress party has no strength in the Legislative Assembly to move a No Confidence Motion.

In an informal chat with media persons in Assembly lobbies on Thursday, Talasani alleged that the Congress wants Assembly to run on its terms. He said that the government was ready to discuss all issues and therefore, it has decided to run the session for 50 days.

However, he said that the Congress MLAs were more interested in politics than participating in debate on public issues.

Commenting on ex-TDP leader A. Revanth Reddy joining Congress, Talasani said this would cause more harm than good to the Congress party. He said Revanth Reddy’s entry would lead to more infighting.

He said that the condition of Congress party in Telangana was so bad that even if party’s national vice-president Rahul Gandhi stays in the State till elections, even then his party would suffer a humiliating defeat.

Talasani also ridiculed Revanth Reddy’s resignation from the post of MLA. He said Revanth Reddy’s resignation letter did not reach the Speaker although the ex-TDP leader is giving an impression as if he personally handed over the letter to S. Madhusudan Chary.

In his own case, he said he had handed over his resignation letter to the Speaker before joining the KCR cabinet. However, the Speaker did not take immediate action on his resignation letter.

Later, a majority of TDP MLAs joined the TRS and the Speaker merged them with the ruling party. Therefore, his resignation letter became invalid as he automatically became part of TRS Legislature Party.

He said in case the Speaker accepts Revanth Reddy’s resignation, then the TRS would certainly contest the by-elections in Kodangal. (INN)
