State Minority Commission Helps 3 Budding Sports Persons in Hyderabad

State Minorities Commission (SMC) has decided to help three budding sports persons belonging to the Minority community. These youngsters are residents of Hyderabad, Telangana.

Boxing players Mohd. Mohsin and Shaik Nagma, and Tennis player Amaan Ayub Khan would receive financial help to further their practice and make career in the chosen sports.

The SMC has recommended the Telangana government for financial assistance to these youngsters, said SMC Chairman Abid Rasool Khan while noting that the government has agreed in principle to provide Rs. 5 lakh for each sports person for their training and expenses.

“The Government of Telangana, Youth Advancement, Tourism have forwarded their recommendations to the Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Sports Authority of Telangana State, Hyderabad for release of funds,” Mr. Khan added.

The commission appreciated Chief Minister KCR’s gesture and said that these youngsters could excel and bring laurels to the State if provided with financial and other assistance.

Shaik Nagma – Boxing

Ms. Nagam has a winning record starting from 2013. She stood first in five notable boxing contests. In 2013, she stood first in a contest organized by School Games Federation of Andhra Pradesh. In 2014, she came first in two different competitions; one was organized by School Games Federation of Telangana State, and the other by Hyderabad Dist. School Games Federation.

In 2015, she again stood first in two different competitions: District Level Inter Collegiate Tournament, organized by Telangana Sports Authority; School Games Federation of Telangana State, organized by State Education Department.

Mohd. Mohsin – Boxing

Mr. Mohsin also has a winning record in boxing. Some of the notable contests he won are:

In 2012, he stood first in 58th District Level Inter School Sports and Games, organized by Hyderabad Dist. School Games Federation. In 2013, 59th District Level Inter School Sports and Games, organized by School Games Federation of Andhra Pradesh.

In 2014, he won Telangana Senior Men Boxing Series, organized by Telangana Boxing Association. In 2015, he won another boxing championship, organized by Telangana Boxing Association.

In 2015, he won Late Sri Mula Adviah Goud Memorial Senior Men Inter District Telangana Boxing Championship, organized by Telangana Boxing Association.

Amaan Ayub Khan – Tennis

Mr. Ayub has won many tennis contests, five among those are:

In 2014, he won two tennis contests: All Ranking Championship Series, organized by Suryodaya Tennis Academy; and All Ranking Championship Series, organized by Rama Tennis Academy.

In 2015, he won three tennis championships: All Ranking Championship Series, organized by Emmanuel Tennis Academy; All Ranking Championship Series, organized by Suryodaya Tennis Academy; and APLTA Championship.
