Dattatreya blames TRS Govt for Adivasis-Lambadas tussle

Hyderabad: BJP senior leader and former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya has blamed the TRS Government for the ongoing fight between Adivasis and Lambadas in Telangana State.

In a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday, Dattatreya demanded that the State Government convene an all-party meeting to discuss the issue and find a solution. He said the problems being faced by the Tribals should be resolved on priority basis.

However, he alleged that the State Government was running away from its responsibility and distances itself from the issue by granting all powers to the police department.

Dattatreya cautioned that the violence between Adivasis and Lambadas reported in Adilabad, Nirmal and Mancherial could spread to other parts of Telangana State.

Therefore, the government should react immediately and find an amicable solution. He said justice should be done with Tribals and they should be given their due share in in jobs, education and funds in proportionate to their population.

Commenting on elevation of Rahul Gandhi as Congress president, Dattetreya described Congress party as sinking ship. (INN)
