Revanth questions Advani’s absence from BJP campaign

Hyderabad: Congress leader and Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy has questioned as to why BJP senior leader L.K. Advani did not took part in BJP’s campaign in Gujarat.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Revanth pointed out that Advani neither participated in the campaign, nor he congratulated the party leaders and workers on its victory in Gujarat elections.

He alleged that Advani has distanced himself from the BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah were indulging in cheap politics. He said former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Advani practices moral-based politics while PM Modi and Amit Shah lack any morals.

Revanth said there was a significant decline in the vote share of BJP in Gujarat. He said that it was the fear of humiliating defeat that made PM Modi float fictitious stories of Pakistan’s conspiring to defeat him in Gujarat.

Further, he asked as to why Central Government did not take action if someone has conspired to assassinate PM Modi. He said that the BJP’s base in Gujarat has eroded and it could to win the seat that falls in PM Modi’s ancestral home.

The Congress leader said Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao too was indulging in cheap politics by encouraging defections in other parties. (INN)
