GHMC to observe Feb 14 as ‘Garbage Day’

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy informed that the corporation would observe February 14 as the ‘Garbage Day’. He said around 45,000 Self Help Groups are being involved in Swachh Survekshan 2018 .

The Commissioner interacted with the Swachh Dhooth members and enquired about the coordination with households and appreciated their efforts and further directed them to interact with the households to download the Swachh App for effective implementation of the Swachh Survekshan.

Dr. Janardhan Reddy held a review meeting with all DCs, ZCs, ACs and all the HODs with a view to ensure perfect inter departmental coordination and which have the larger importance of eliciting cooperation. He directed all the HODs to personally coordinate with all the Swachh Dhooth members to derive best results.

The Commissioner directed all the HODs that survey teams would be visiting almost all the 150 wards for which everyone should be alert to coordinate with the teams to give proper response.

He said that Swachh Dhooth App download is the top priority and an SMS on important points of Swachh Survekshan to all the concerned officials and the Swachh Dhooth members so that effective work will be taken up.

Zonal Commissioners Musharaff and Siktha Patnaik, Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, HODs have attended the meeting at GHMC, Head Office.

The Commissioner also informed that today the GHMC has received ISO certificate for maintaining She Toilets. (INN)
