KCR trying to use Metro Rail for own benefit: Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Congress leader and Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy has alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was trying to use Hyderabad Metro Rail for his own personal gains.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Revanth Reddy condemned the State Government’s decision to expand Metro Rail from Rai Durgam to Shamshabad and alleged that it would put an additional burden of Rs. 4,000 on the State’s exchequer.

He said instead of taking the Metro Rail from Falaknuma to Shamshabad, TRS Government wants to extend the route to Raiduram to Shamshabad Airport.

Revanth Reddy said that Raidurgam-Shamshabad route would not benefit the common people, but KCR family would gain out of it as they possess several properties enroute. He said the Metro Rail expansion would increase the value of KCR family’s properties from hundreds of crores to thousands of crores.

He said Falaknum-Shamshabad Airport route was just 15 km while Raidurgam-Shamshabad would be around 31 km. Therefore, the first route will cause less burden on State Exchequer while the second route will only benefit the KCR family, he alleged. (INN)
