MANUU Introduces ‘Bridge Courses’ for Madrasa Students from AY 2016-17

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) invited application from students for admission into various graduate, post graduate, and research programs for academic year 2016-17.

Hyderabad-based central university has introduced ‘Bridge Courses’ for students from Madrasa background for the first from this academic year. These bridge courses are two semester programs.

“The pass outs of this [Madrasa] system of education at present have limited avenues of vertical mobility to only in courses like Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Islamic Studies etc., in certain Universities,” MANUU said.

“To integrate these students into contemporary education system, “Bridge Course” for all the Under Graduate and Polytechnic programs has been introduced.”

The Gachibowli-based Urdu varsity offers various technical and non-technical courses under its seven schools, which have 24 departments. It said the last date for submitting online application is May 30, 2016.

MANUU offers undergraduate programs in Languages, Arts &Social Sciences, Commerce and Sciences. It has two campuses, and many centers. Its main campus is located in Hyderabad, and the other campus is in Lucknow.

In a bid to remain close to its purpose of Urdu promotion, MANUU vice chancellor Dr. Aslam Parvez reportedly instructed for an Urdu makeover of the varsity’s official website.
