Centre has constructed 2.88 lakh toilets in Telangana

Hyderabad: BJP MP and former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya has claimed that the Central Government has sanctioned as many as 2,88,204 toilets as part of Swach Bharat Abhiyan.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Dattatreya said that the Centre would be paying Rs. 10,000 for each toilet, State Government was hesitating to pay its contribution of Rs. 3,000 for each toilet.

For the same reason, he said that the construction of toilets was getting delayed in Telangana.

Earlier, Dattatreya participated in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Musheerabad Assembly constituency. Telangana BJP President Dr. K. Lakshman and other leaders were also present on the occasion.

Dattatreya said that Hyderabad got 19th rank in Swachh Sarvekshan. Therefore, he said GHMC needs to involve common people to improve its ranking. (INN)
