Revanth denies having plans to undertake padayatra

Hyderabad: Congress leader and Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy has clarified that he had not put forth any pre-condition of taking up padayatra across Telangana State before joining the Congress party.

In an informal chat with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy said he had neither presented any plan to hold padayatra nor was it rejected by the HIgh Command.

He said there was no truth in such reports and they were mere media speculations. He said he was ready to accept any responsibility which is assigned to him by the High Command and TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Revanth Reddy said that the performance of Congress party in several districts of Telangana in next elections would be highly impressive.

He said that the party would emerge victorious in areas which have large Velama population. He said that the people of Telangana would never accept family rule and therefore, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his family members were bound to face rejection in next polls.

The Congress leader also claimed that his party would win Karnataka Assembly elections. He said by supporting JD(S), TRS was indirectly helping BJP. He alleged that KCR has announced its support for JD (S) due to the interference of BJP president Amit Shah. (INN)
