Telangana Diagnostic Central Hub launched at IIPM

Hyderabad: Health Minister Dr. K. Lakshma Reddy and IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao launched Telangana Diagnostic Central Hub in the premises of Indian Institute of Preventive Medicine (IIPM) here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the diagnostic hub would conduct 53 different tests of samples to be collected at 106 pre-diagnostic centres spread across Telangana State.

He said that the hub would function in three shifts and the reports of various tests would be sent within 24 hours depending upon the nature of diagnostics.

He said that the hub would prove highly beneficial for the poor patients who visit government hospitals.

KTR said that the diagnostic hub was another big initiative of TRS Government which has taken several steps so far to improve the public health centre.

He said that the government has started 40 dialysis centres and established ICU and NICU centres in many government hospitals. He said the institutional deliveries have increased by 40-50% after the introduction of cash incentive and KCR Kits.

He said Basthi Dawakhanas (clinics) have been started in 17 localities in Hyderabad and 40 more would be launched soon. He announced that one Basthi Dawakhana would be started for population of 10,000.

The Health Minister, in his speech, described the launch of Diagnostic Hub as another milestone and announced that similar hubs would be set up in all district headquarters.

He alleged that the previous regimes had completely neglected health sector. However, he said the TRS Government has strengthened the sector by spending hundreds of crores of rupees. (INN)
