TRS Govt committed to farmers’ welfare: KTR

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K. Tarakarama Rao, along with Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, laid the foundation stone for Agriculture College building in Sardapur of Sircilla district on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the TRS Government has been taking several measures for the growth of agriculture sector in Telangana State.

He said a target of providing water to one crore acres of land has been set and several irrigation projects were started to achieve the goal.

He said the works on Kaleshwaram project has been going on at war footing basis. He said this project alone would provide irrigation water to lakhs of acres of land in several districts. He said second phase works of SRSP too would be completed soon.

KTR said that the Rythu Bandhu scheme is proving to be revolutionary as it provides Rs. 4,000 per acre per crop season to all the farmers across the State.

He said that the government would be spending Rs. 12,000 crore on 58 lakh acres of land every year. He said that the government has also appointed one agriculture extension officer for 5,000 acres each.

Vemulawada MLA Dr. Ch. Ramesh and other leaders and officials were also present on the occasion. (INN)
