Hyderabad Runners organizes Go Heritage Run

Enthusiasts of heritage and marathon ran in large numbers on Sunday, in an event organized by Hyderabad Runners.

Go Heritage Run, supported by Hyderabad Runners, INTACH Hyderabad, Telangana Tourism, Telangana Police, Care hospitals and iKeva, mapped 5k, 10k, and 21k routes for its runners amidst the city’s ancient cultural heritage sites.

Kids as young as 7 years to heritage enthusiasts as old as 80 years were amongst the 1200+ men, women, and children that participated in this fun filled and educating run on 24 June, 2018.

While about 500 participants ran the 21k and over 400 ran the 10k, there was a surge in the number of 5k runners from last time to more than 250 this time.

Over 100 ever ready volunteers from the Hyderabad Runners ensured that the entire morning went smooth by taking care of all water and electrolyte support, medal and certificate distribution, and en-route directions.

Cultural heritage of a city not only helps its residents reminisce its glorious years and promotes its value to the rest of the country and the world, it also enhances its cultural diversity and societal value.

Care Hospitals, the medical partner for Go Heritage Run – Hyderabad provided medical support, paramedics and emergency standby vehicles.

Post Run, Mrs. Anuradha Reddy of INTACH Hyderabad led an exploration of the history of Taramati and relationship between diamonds and Golconda.
