Muslim Freedom Fighters Exhibition Attracts Hundreds in Hyderabad

Hundreds turned up to explore role of Muslims in freedom movement at an exhibition on Muslim freedom fighters in Hyderabad.

The two-day exhibition, organized by CA Karishma and Bookworms Reading Room in Red Hills, was inaugurated by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday.

The exhibition was based on the book ‘The Immortals’ written by noted historian Syed Naseer Ahmed.

Through this exhibition Guntur resident Ahmed wanted to spread awareness about Muslim freedom fighters among youth.

On the first day, as many as 400 people turned up for the exhibition including participation of eight schools.

“The head count was more than what we thought,” said Sayeed MA, one of the organizers of the exhibition.

Around 150 boards were on display, showcasing Muslim freedom fighters categorized as per the major battles they fought starting from 1757 to 1947.

Syed Faheem of Bookworms Reading Room appeared pleased on finding students’ curiousity to know about freedom fighters.

Entrepreneur Sayeed reiterated the need to educate young generation about contribution of Muslims towards the progress and development of the country.

Md Farooq, a participant, said he always thought there were handful of Muslims involved in the freedom struggle. Being amazed at the number of personalities on display, he quickly went live on Facebook to share the exhibits.
