Professional Course for Probationary Dy Collectors launched

Hyderabad: Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana launched a Professional Course for Group-I Officers, including Probationary Deputy Collectors, Assistant Treasury Officers, and Assistant Audit Officers. Principal Secretary to Government (Finance) K Ramakrishna Rao inaugurated the training program.

Ramakrishna Rao, in his inaugural address, said that Group-I officers, though small in numbers, have a rare opportunity to provide leadership aimed at improving the contribution of over three-and-a-half lakh employees at different levels, and thereby enriching quality of governance for about three-and-a-half crores people of Telangana State.

He advised them to learn and perfect the art of leadership by developing a positive vision of future, acquiring ability to get the things done, spotting leaders at lower levels and grooming them, and finding time for their own overall development.

Continuing his address, he said that the level of awareness of people, politicians, employees, and other stakeholders is mind-boggling and added that in this contemporary world of work, the Group-I Officers can survive and succeed only when they are thoroughly familiar with the Acts,

Rules, and Manuals relating their respective jobs and their application at the ground level. “Continuously learning in the contemporary fast-changing scenario is a big challenge”, he said and added that there is no growth in comfort zone and there is no comfort in the growth zone.

Vakati Karuna, Director, Land Revenue said that Group-I Officers have the rare privilege of not only interacting with a large number of people, especially their underprivileged and rural counterparts, but also bringing about a positive change in their lives.

Continuing her address, she called upon the Group-I Officers to be the champions of poor and vulnerable sections of society and endeavor to use their positions to deliver maximum justice, instead of blocking it.

Considering the spectacular performance of Government during the last four years, she advised the Group-I Officers to possess positive perspective and continue to deliver their optimum best to their jobs and organizations.

M Venkateshwar Rao, Director of State Audit Department said that continuous improvement in the quality of audit is the need of the hour. “The audit should focus on trying to understand whether the goals for which Government money was spent have been achieved or not”, he added.

K S R C Murty, Director of Treasuries & Accounts said than an officer should possess not only the knowledge of subject but also be familiar with the relevant technology. “The training programs must identify the gaps in the knowledge of subject and technology and address them appropriately”, he added.

B Venkateswara Rao, ADG, Dr. MCR HRD Institute said that the content of the training program is current and up-to-date. “Thorough brainstorming sessions were held with senior practitioners in order to ensure that the program covers all the latest themes and the relevant softwares”, he added.

E Narasimhan, Jt. Dierctor proposed a vote of thanks. K Jagan Mohan Goud, Head, Centre for Financial Management conducted proceedings of the function. (INN)
