Hyderabad: Legal Metrology Department received several complaints from consumers on collecting of high prices at Cinema Theatres and Multiplexes. In particularly most complaints were against multiplexes.
Legal Metrology Department suggested consumers to register their complaints at Toll Free Number 180042500333, Whats App Number 7330774444 on charging rates excess of MRP.
For the past two days Toll Free and Whats App number received near about 200 complaints from consumers. Keeping in view of these complaints Legal Metrology Department continued its special for second day.
Out of 28 multiplexes in Greater Hyderabad and HMDA zone, on day one checks were conducted at 20 multiplexes, of which 18 were found violating rules and 54 cases were booked on them.
On Friday, second day special teams conducted checks on another 8 multiplexes, 6 were found violating rules, 19 cases are booked.
1) Hyderabad Central PVR-3; 2) Inox Inorbit Mall Hitech City-4; 3) Cine Polis Shamshabad-4; 4) Ashian Cinema Attapur-2; 5) Asian Lakshmikala-2;
6) RK Cinema, Banjara Hills-4.
21 regular single screen theatres were also raided. 14 theatres were found violating the rules and 15 cases were booked against them. Remaining 7 theatres followed rules and regulations issued by Legal Metrology Department.
