Prof. Syed Rahman becomes Principal of Nizam College

Osmania University vice chancellor has accorded approval for the appointment of Prof. Syed Rahman as new Principal of Nizam College, Nampally, Hyderabad.

Before being appointed principal, Prof. Syed Rahman was teaching as a faculty at Department of Physics in University College of Science, Osmania University.

Prof. Rahman has been appointed as Principal of Nizam College “with immediate effect until further orders”, according to an official statement released to the press.

Located in the heart of the city i.e. Nampally, Nizam College is an autonomous educational institute under the jurisdiction of Osmania University.

The college was established in 1887 by the amalgamation of Madarsa-i-Aliya and Hyderabad School. Before becoming part of Osmania University, Nizam College was affiliated to the University of Madras for 60 years.

It has four listed departments: Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Social, and Faculty of Commerce. In recently held TSICET, a student of B.Sc from Nizam College topped the exam.

Noted academician, educationist, and former vice chancellor of University of Hyderabad, Prof. Seyed E. Hasnain also served as Principal of Nizam College some years ago.
