OU asks all colleges to introduce bio-metric attendance system

Hyderabad: As a part of the academic reforms initiated by Osmania University (OU), the university administration has directed all the colleges under its jurisdiction to introduce the bio-metric attendance system to augment the learning process.

At a meeting of 160 Principals /Correspondents of affiliated colleges on Friday, here at the PGRRCDE, OU the Prof. S. Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor stressed upon the mandatory introduction of bio-metric attendance system to faculty and students to enhance the quality of teaching.

He said colleges would be given one month time to procure and install the bio metric machines from the Telangana Sate Technology Services (TSTS). Osmania University has already signed an MoU with the TSTS, he disclosed.

The Telangana State Technology Services (TSTS), is the State Nodal Agency for all IT initiatives & needs. It is nominated as Authorized User Agency providing AUA/eKYC services related to AADHAAR to any Department/Organization in Telangana.

TSTS shall provide range of Authentication and eKYC services in Web, Windows, Android and Linux platforms along with the required SDK’s/API’s/DLL’s for integrating to any existing applications of any Department/Organization of Government of Telangana through a robust, scalable, protected by taking connectivity from different ASAs

OU Registrar, Prof Ch. Gopal Reddy , Prof. C. Venugopal Rao, Director, Academic Audit, Dr A. V. Rajashekar and Prof B. Sudhaker Reddy, Joint Directors were also present. The meeting was conducted by the Directorate of Academic Audit, OU. (INN)
