Hyderabad: Metro trains are now running at a high speed and increased frequency and therefore crossing the rail tracks is very dangerous for passengers said HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy in a note here today.
Fatal accidents have occurred in similar incidents in some other Metros, he pointed out.
Trespassing/crossing rail tracks is punishable offence under Metro Act up to Rs. 500/- penalty and / 6 months of imprisonment, he warned.
Few such incidences have been observed where passengers crossed the rail track to go to other platform.
He advised everyone not to do so and instead use lift/escalator/staircase to go down to concourse level to go to the right platform. (INN)
