Colourful start to Azad Day Celebrations at MANUU

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University started five day long Azad day Celebrations today with a colourful inaugural ceremony at MANUU Model School, Hyderabad.

Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, IPS, CEO, Telangana Waqf Board was the Chief Guest and Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice Chancellor, presided over. Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim in his address stressed the need to imbibe the qualities of truth and
dedication to achieve success.

Domestic atmosphere, upbringing by parents and good companions contribute are major contributions to any success story. Parents need to check the progress of their children on regular basis, he advised. Dr. Mohammad Asalm Parvaiz in his presidential address focused on the importance of education of girls.

He described the dropouts of girl students due to parents unwillingness as unfortunate. Both the speakers lauded the cultural performance by the students of MANUU Model School.

Earlier, the students presented a splendid cultural programmes blended with a social message. Sadaf Hania & group presented a dance performance on the song Kar Har Maidan Fatah.

Students of class fourth and third performed on the songs Chuna Hai Aasman and Suno Bachao Uthao Basta respectively whereas welcome song was presented by the tiny students of first standard. Students of class V and XII delivered speeches on the life and work of Maulana Azad.

Bait Bazi, Yoga Act and Drama were also part of the cultural extravaganza. Drama on sensitive issues of girls harassment was received well. Dr Kafeel Ahmad, Principal, Model School, welcomed the guests while Mr. Anees Azmi,
Chairman Organizing Committee & Chief Consultant, Centre for Urdu Culture Studies introduced the guest and spoke about the importance of Azad Day Celebrations.

Student of the Year cash award of Rs. 10,000/- was handed over to Ms. Asma Begum, who passed out this year from the school. Ms. Asia Anjum Ara, Head Mistress, present vote of Thanks. Dr. Fathaullah Bakhtiari conducted the proceedings.

Later, a science exhibition and wall magazine by the school students and laboratories
were also inaugurated.

Photo Exhibition inaugurated:
Meanwhile, a three day photo exhibition on Maulana Azad was also inaugurated today afternoon by Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz at the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism.

Paintings, sketches, drawing and collages by MANUU Students are part of the exhibition. Posters prepared in Urdu, Hindi, English, Bangla, Oriya, Persian and Arabic covered different aspects of Maulana Azad’s life.

Through the exhibition MANUU Students hailing from different states paid tribute to Maulana Azad in their mother language.

Most of the participants are from NSS Cell. Dr. Mohammad Fariyad is the coordinator of the exhibition.
The Azad Day celebrations would continue at MANUU till November 15.
