MANUU organizes blood donation camp

Hyderabad: National Social Service (NSS) Cell of Maulana Azad National Urdu University has organized a blood donation camp today as part of the ongoing Azad Day Celebrations.

Prof. Shakeel Ahmad, Pro Vice-Chancellor, MANUU, inaugurated the camp which was organized in collaboration with Mehdi Nawaz Jung Institute of Oncology (Regional Cancer Centre) and HDFC Bank, Hyderabad.

According to Dr. Mohammad Fariyad, Coordinator Camp, students , specially girls were seen in ques to donate blood.

Essay Writing Competition held:

Meanwhile, essay writing competitions was also held in which 79 students participated. The competition was held in Urdu, English and Hindi language.

The number of students who took part in Urdu are 36 whereas 26 students for Hindi and 17 students participated in English essay writing. The results will be declared soon.

Book Exhibition inaugurated:

The Central Library (Saiyid Hamid Library) of MANUU organised a Book Exhibition on “Books written by Maulana Azad and Books on Maulana Azad written by various authors” which was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor Dr. M. Aslam Parvaiz .

Maulana Azad’s historic weekly Newspapers Al-Hilal and Al-Bilal which was published during the Pre-Independence period was also displayed.

The Exhibition will remain open till 12 th November 2018.

Bait Bazi Competition held:

Bait Bazi (recitation of poetic couplet) was held on November 5, in which 14 teams participated. The team Maqdoom Mohiuddin got the first prize According to Mr. Imtiyaz Alam, Coordinator – Bait Bazi, 14 teams participated in the bait baziheld at DDE Auditorium.

The team Maqdoom Mohiuddin of MCJ Students Ayesha sultana and Arshia Tanzeem stood first. Abdul Rahman, Shaik Sameer Arafat and Rabia Sultana of Team Ghalib got second position and Students of M.Ed., Danish Iqbal, Mohd. Israel and Najamul Haq of Josh Malihabadi team secured third position.

Dr. Zahid ul Haq, Associate Professor, University of Hyderabad judged the competition and Mr. Anis Azmi, Chairman, Azad Day Celebrations Committee and Chief Consultant CUCS was the chief guest of the event.
