SCR to impart skill development training to youth

Hyderabad: As a first of its kind initiative, South Central Railway has introduced a unique program for imparting Skill Development Courses to wards and dependents of Railway Employees and also to local youth and people residing in Guntakal Town at The Skill Development Centre set up at Divisional Office premises, Guntakal Division.

This free of cost program commences from 3rd June and is being taken up in association with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), Amaravati for improving the technical skills and for quick placements in different small-scale industries.

Initially courses pertaining to Multi Skill Electrician (House wiring, domestic appliances repair, motor winding, Computer Courses (MS-Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Hospitality Course (training program only to the Railway Staff dealing with public) will be launched.

Interested candidates can register their names on-line in the following link www.apssdc.in/scrguntakaldivision2019.com till May 31 up to 5 pm. Offline registration is also permitted by duly submitting their applications at Skill Development Centre, DRM Office, Guntakal. Depending upon the number of candidates – batches will be fixed.

Further, others courses for youth and women will also be started shortly.

The Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has also agreed to start Skill Development Courses for the students from 6th class onwards studying in Railway School English Medium, Guntakal as a co-curricular activity from the academic year 2019-20.

The above skills will be taught by ICA Edu skill for Information Technology & Computational Thinking, IL & FS shall support in communicative English and Life Skills.

This unique initiative has been taken up under the guidance of Vijay P. Singh Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division and earned appreciation from Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR who lauded the Guntakal Division for taking the lead in the objective towards enhancing the skills of youth to make them gainfully employed.
