MANUU celebrates International Yoga Day in Hyderabad Campus

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized yoga session at its Hyderabad campus on the eve of International Yoga Day on June 21, 2016.

Ayurvedacharya from Patanjali Chikitsalaya in Gachibowli, Dr. Ramakant Sahu talked about importance and relevance of Yoga in his lecture as a Chief Guest of the event.

Yoga Guru Ram Avatar Tiwari demonstrated various Yoga Asans at Sports Complex in Hyderabad campus of MANUU. Another guest, Dr. Sahu noted that Yoga helps in good physical health and contributes to mental fitness.

For example during normal course of respiration only 30% of lungs are used, whereas during Pranayam this important organ of the body is utilized completely, he said.

Principal of Polytechnic, Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Khan, presided over and advised the students to take up Yoga and physical activity for healthy life.

Dr. Mohammad Fariyad, Coordinator of NSS and Yoga Day, said that Yoga ispart of Indian culture and the Government of India is focused on promoting our culture.

Participants of the program were given certificates.
