Kondandaram opposes new buildings for Secretariat, Assembly

Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi president Prof. M. Kodandaram has strongly objected to the plans of the Telangana Government to construct new buildings for the Secretariat and Assembly.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Kodandaram said that there was no need for new buildings for State Government at this moment. Instead, he said that the State Government must focus on improving the facilities in present hospitals and hostels.

He said the civic amenities need to be improved in Hyderabad which comes to a standstill after a brief spell of rains.

Kodandaram also advised the government not to work in haste over linking of rivers. He said linking of Godavari and Krishna Rivers might not work in the benefit of Telangana State.

He alleged that linking of rivers was being prominence to neglect the implementation of promises made with Telangana State in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Kodandaram also informed that TJS Plenary session would be held on July 13. He announced that the TJS would contest the forthcoming municipal elections in the State. (INN)
