Boycott TRS leaders in Huzurnagar, Shabbir Ali tells minorities

Huzurnagar: Former minister and ex-Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Sunday urged the minorities in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency to either boycott the TRS leaders or question them on non-fulfilment of promises.

Addressing a press conference, along with MLC T. Jeevan Reddy, at Huzurnagar, Shabbir Ali said that the minorities should not allow TRS leaders to seek votes until they give a reply on the non-fulfilment of promises which includes 12% Reservation in jobs and education for Muslims, judicial powers to Wakf Board, huge cut in annual budget and most importantly TRS party’s support to the BJP Government at the Centre.

Shabbir Ali alleged that minorities have been cheated in the name of Rs. 2,000 crore annual budget. “There is not a single time in the past six years when the minorities were allocated a budget of Rs. 2,000 crore. Further, not even once, the budget for minorities welfare was fully utilised. He said the spending was less than 60% in the last six years.

Stating that TRS was the B-Team of BJP, Shabbir Ali listed out the occasions when TRS supported the BJP Government. He said KCR supported PM Modi in scrapping the Planning Commission to be replaced with NITI Aayog.

Planning Commission used to allocate separate budget for minorities’ welfare in India which was discontinued by NITI Aayog. Similarly, he TRS backed Modi Govt when it scrapped special funding for backward districts which badly hurt the interest of Telangana.

He said K. Chandrashekhar Rao was the first Chief Minister to support the demonitisation move although many BJP chief ministers were hesitant to speak about it. Similarly, he supported GST (Goods & Services Tax) which badly hurt the economy resulting in loss of lakhs of jobs.

In the elections for President of India, Shabbir Ali reminded that CM KCR supported the candidature of Ramnath Kovind, a functionary of RSS, but did not support Congress candidate Meira Kumar, daughter of Babu Jagjeevan Ram, and the Lok Sabha Speaker who facilitated passing of Telangana Bill in the Parliament.

Likewise, KCR backed Venkaiah Naidu and went against the candidature of grandson of Mahatma Gandhi for the election of Vice President of India. TRS MPs supported BJP in election of Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha.

For Tripe Talaq Bill, Shabbir Ali said TRS MPs supported the BJP by staging a walk out when it was passed in Lok Sabha first time.

But Congress party stalled the Bill in Rajya Sabha. Despite giving assurance that TRS would oppose the Bill second time, TRS MPs again abstained from voting in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and helped BJP Govt pass the Bill.

TRS is supporting the BJP Govt in NRC issue although it is making misleading statement saying that it will not be implemented in Telangana. It also backed BJP in the NIA Amendment & UAPA Bills. He challenged the TRS leaders to show a single instance when their party opposed the BJP.

The Congress leader said people should question TRS leaders on the status of enquiry into Alair encounter and Kishanbagh firing incident. Similarly, the Chief Minister must clarify as to why his government did not file an appeal against the CBI Court judgement in the Mecca Masjid Blast case.

TRS leaders also owe an explanation on demolition of Ek Khana Masjid in Amberpet and the future of two mosques in the Secretariat premises.

Shabbir Ali said that the TRS party could not fool the minorities this time as they have decided to teach it a fitting lesson in Huzurnagar bye-elections.

Earlier in the day, Shabbir Ali campaigned along with Congress candidate Padmavathi Reddy in Mallareddygudem and other areas. He addressed several corner meetings.

Shabbir Ali, who campaigned in several areas of Huzurnagar during the last two days, claimed that Padmavathi Reddy was all set to win the elections not only with a comfortable majority but a huge margin. (INN)
