Congress to ‘gherao’ Collectorates over 2BHK houses

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President & Medchal MP A. Revanth Reddy has announced that Congress party would launch a massive agitation if State Government fails to deliver promised double bed room houses to weaker sections by next month.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Revanth Reddy said that the TRS Government was only making false claims on construction and distribution of 2BHK house for poor. He said nearly 26 lakh people across Telangana, including about 10 lakhs in Hyderabad, do not own a house.

He said that the TRS Government, in the last six years, took no steps for the construction of double bed room houses. He alleged that the State Government has stopped release of funds to the contractors for the houses which were already sanctioned.

Revanth Reddy demanded that the State Government depute a senior official as incharge to complete the construction of houses on war footing basis. He said the deserving beneficiaries should be provided a 2BHK unit in the same basthi/locality.

Asking the government to ensure release of funds in this month, he warned that the Congress party would launch a massive agitation and ‘gherao’ District Collectorates if the government fails to deliver the 2BHK houses by April. (INN)
