BRAOU inaugurated an open social forum

Hyderabad: Department of Social Sciences of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), inaugurated the Open Social Forum on Tuesday at the University Campus.   Prof V. S. Prasad, Formerly Vice-Chancellor (Acting) IGNOU, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. BRAOU & Director, NAAC, was the Chief Guest.

Prof V. S. Prasad said increasing access to quality education providing a flexible system of learning mediated by technology upgrading of knowledge skill and competencies of the working population and lifelong learning, continues learning opportunities for life enrichment and creating of a knowledge society. Distance education open learning, open education flexible learning e-learning, digital learning, with shades of different meaning has ushered in era in education it’s a system of education to provide space to spaceless in Higher Education.

Prof. G. Haragopal, the Eminent Social Scientist, was delivered the inaugural lecture on “OPEN TALK” The future Distance Education will become like any other traditional university except it will still retain its advantages of low cost, no geographical or time limitations, high levels of scalability and the most important one-the inclusive societal growth. If you can pledge to ensure that you will use this knowledge to light many little candles and spread the spirit of future generations, you would have paid your dues to your teachers and parents who have worked to make you what you are today.

Prof K. Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU presided over the program. Prof. Rao said to create awareness about the importance of education among the rural and backward people.

Prof.Ghanta Chakrapani, Dean of social Sciences initiated the open social forum and explain the aims, objectives of the program. He specially mentioned that the main objective of the program is to reach the people who are residing in remote areas with no proper education.Prof E. Sudha Rani, Director (Academic), Dr.G.Laxma Reddy, Registrar Directors, Heads of the Branches, Deans, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff members, University Retired Professors Prof. C. Venkataiah, Prof. Rajasekhar Reddy, Prof. Kiranmayi, G. Malla Reddy, Representatives services Associations and Research Students participated. Dr. Krishna Reddy Program Coordinator proposed a vote of thanks. (INN)
