Hyderabad: As many as 2,295 fresh cases of Coronavirus were registered in Telangana State till 5.30 pm on Friday while three people lost their lives due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
With this increase, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases in the State has increased to 6,89,751 while the death toll increased to 4,039.
According to the Media Bulletin issued by the Director of Public Health & Family Welfare, of 2,295 new cases, as many as 1,452 cases were recorded in Greater Hyderabad alone while 232 cases in Medchal Malkajgiri and 218 cases in Rangareddy district were also registered. This is the second consecutive day when more than 1,000 fresh cases were reported in Greater Hyderabad. Compared to 1st January, the number of fresh cases has increased by over seven times in the last one week.
On Friday, a total of 278 people recovered from the disease. Presently, there are 9,861 Active Cases in Telangana State.
A total of 64,474 samples were tested on Friday which took the total number of samples tested in the State to 3,00,02,149. (INN)
