DIGITHON to facilitate first-ever International Internship Program

Hyderabad: Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) and its digital entity Digithon are facilitating a first-of-its-kind International Internship program for students to grab opportunities at the global level. For this, TITA in association with one of the top US universities — the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) is organizing the International Internship program both in direct and indirect mode.

The announcement about the international internship was made by UTD Director Dr. Jey Veerasamy at the annual symposium of the Telangana Information Technology Association. The International Internship program in a first-world country like the US will equip students with skills required to meet global market demand. The program will help students secure employment opportunities in US, H1B visa and other benefits in the future. TITA invited applications for the internship scheduled to begin from February 14, 2022.

Various surveys have pointed out that B Tech and other grads in technical education lack skills required for domestic as well as global markets. Against this backdrop, Digithon and UTD have collaborated to upskill students pursuing graduation through the International Internship program. The three-month internship program will commence on February 14. Later, students will fly to the US for another one-month internship at UTD on J1  visa where they will attend four-hour classes every day as part of the project.

Offshore chapters of TITA have come forward to make the internship program affordable for students. Listing out details of the internship program, Jey Veerasamy said students will be provided lodging and boarding facility at UTD. The said internship in a country like the US will open doors for opportunities for students in terms of education & employment and will help understand the global market trends, Mr. Veerasamy said.Speaking about the International Internship program, TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala said the Association has discussed the internship prospects and other details with Ravi Lotumalla of US Admissions.
