Hyderabad: The Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee – Hyderabad Deccan announced that the crescent of Muharram-ul-Haram was not sighted in Telangana State on Friday evening.
Therefore, 31st July will be the 1st of Muharram and the beginning of the new Islamic Year 1444 Hijri and the Yaum-e-Ashoora will be observed on August 9 (Tuesday).The announcement was made by the Committee which met here under the chairmanship of Moulana Syed Qubool Pasha Shattari, President, Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee on Friday evening after it got confirmation that the crescent was not sighted today.
