Governor, CM greets people on Raksha Bandhan festival

Hyderabad: Governor Telangana Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has greeted the people of Telangana on the occasion of the Raksha Bandhan festival.

The Governor, in her message on Thursday, said that the festival symbolizes the great Indian tradition of the eternal bond between brothers and sisters.

“I wish that the thread of love will bind the hearts and lives of all brothers and sisters and make their immortal bond of togetherness stronger. All the brothers shall shower their sisters with lots of affection, care, and protection on this auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan out of love. The Rakhi that is tied on the wrist of the brothers is a sublime symbol of Raksha (protection) for the sisters. Let us all celebrate this Raksha Bandhan in the true spirit of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration. I wish all my brothers and sisters of Telangana a very happy and affectionate Raksha Bandhan,” the Governor said in her message.

In a separate message, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi Festival) which strengthens the sacred spirit of brotherhood in human relations.

CM KCR said that the feeling of the bond of protection that brothers should always offer to their respective sisters is involved in the festival of Rakhi.

The CM said that the festival of Rakhi, which is celebrated every year on the full moon of the month of Shravan with brotherhood and love, is a great tradition in Indian culture since time immemorial. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, CM KCR hoped that the feeling of brotherhood among the people of the country would spread more and more. (INN)
