Hyderabad: The State Government has announced that it would provide hostel facilities to 100 per cent of students of graduation. The principal of the college made this announcement on Tuesday. Undergraduates can apply for the hostel facility till November 19, informed principal.
The students have been protesting for the hostel facility for the past 15 days. As per the latest announcement, it was assured that new buildings will also be allocated for undergraduate students.Earlier in the day, students of Nizam College met Education Minister Sabitha Indira Reddy and apprised her of their problems. The minister spoke to the vice chancellor of Osmania University and the Principal of the college in the matter of providing hostel facilities to the students. The minister expressed her dissatisfaction with OU VC for not appropriately dealing with the issue and denying the hostel to undergraduates. Nizam college students have been protesting with a demand of providing hostel facilities to the undergraduates on par with PG students. (INN)
