Hyderabad:Â Health and Finance Minister T Harish Rao said that the Palm Oil plantation business was the future.
Harish Rao opined that palm plantations would not cost much and give good returns. He said that many other plantations can be grown in palm farms.
The Minister was touring the Narayanraopet Mandal of Siddipet on Monday and planted plants and asked farmers to come forward for palm plantation. He said that any plantation would thrive following the irrigation water from Kaleshwaram today. He said that Siddipet stood ahead in the country in Palm Farming. He said that so far there were plantations on 6300 acres and the target was to set up a plantation at 10,000 acres.Harish Rao said that the palm plantation in the remaining 4,000 acres area would be soon taken up. He said that oil palm plantation brings prosperity to the farmers. He said that one can earn Rs 30,000 per month and Rs 3.60 lakhs per annum from the palm plantation. (INN)
