Govt schools on par with private schools: Satyavathi Rathor

Hyderabad: Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathor said that the State government was providing quality education on par with private schools in government-run schools.

Satyavathi Rathor said that Telangana residential schools were in fact standing ideal in the country. She said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao had taken initiatives to make the Tribal children into scholars. She said that there were only 91 Tribal Residential Schools before Telangana; later, the government started 92 additional schools. She was speaking after distributing Laptops to the Tribal students of residential schools who secured seats in IITs, NITs and IIITs.The Minister said that the literacy rate among Tribals had increased these days and said that the government was providing qualitative and free education to Tribals. She said that the government was providing coaching to the students by establishing Pratibha Schools and hundreds of students were getting educated in many prestigious institutions every year. She said that such students were provided with a Laptop and Rs 50,000 as a stipend. (INN)
