Quality education in government schools: Malla Reddy

Hyderabad: Labour and Employment Minister Ch Malla Reddy said that government schools were transformed on par with private schools after the formation of Telangana with the vision of CM KCR in the state.

He was speaking after launching the 6th RDC sports competition in the Social Welfare School of Ankushapur, Ghatkesar on Sunday.

Malla Reddy said that the government had increased the funds in order to provide quality education and better facilities to poor students in government schools. He said that government spends Rs1 lakh per annum for each student of Residential school per annum.The Minister said that the residential schools were introduced in the state to provide KG to PG free education. He said that the government was spending RS 20 lakhs for the higher education of students in the state. There are 1,000 residential schools in the state for BC, ST, SC and minorities in the state. (INN)
