Harish Rao requests Covid vaccine booster doses for Telangana

Hyderabad:  Health minister T Harish Rao requested the Central Government to supply booster doses of Covid vaccine for the Telangana State.

He said that there were 8 lakh Covaxin and about 80,000 Covishield and Corbivax doses in the state. In this context, he requested the centre to supply the booster doses to speed up the booster vaccination in the State. He said that Telangana was ahead in average booster doses at 48 per cent when compared to 23 per cent at the national level.  He said that this percentage of doses was possible only because of the Chief Minister’s continuous overview and supervision.Harish Rao spoke to Union Minister of Health Dr Mansukh Mandaviya during a video conference of health ministers on Friday. He requested the Union Minister to explain the new virus mutant, its expansion ways, impact on health, and treatment to the states. He said that if these things are approved by the state, it would be easy to handle the impending crisis. He said that there was a need to introduce a method of mapping with hospitals nearer to the oxygen plants in the coming days. (INN)
