Kanti Velugu camps where people wanted: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Health Minister Harish Rao said that the government aimed to conduct eye examinations for everyone in Telangana state.

He said that the government was ready to set up camps wherever people wanted them to be. He said that the ANMs would bring the necessary spectacles to the house.

Ministers Harish Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav inaugurated the Kanti Velugu camp at Vivekananda Community Hall, Ameerpet, Hyderabad on Thursday. Speaking on this occasion, Minister Harish said that every scheme in Telangana stands as an example for the country. He said that many states and the Centre were emulating state schemes. It is a matter of pride for Telangana to implement Kanti Velugu in Punjab and Delhi in the coming days.He said that the second phase started on Thursday. He said that eye testing would be held in 16,533 centres across the state and 1500 teams have been formed for this, each team would have eight personnel. He informed that the government had set a target of testing 15 million people in a hundred days. Eyeglasses and medicines will be provided to the needy. Teams would be sent to GHMC, gated communities and apartments. He said that the Kanti Velugu program will also be held in the press club. It is advised to make the Kantivelu program a success. (INN)
