Rythu Bandhu provided to 60 lakh farmers: KTR

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that the State Government was giving Rythu Bandhu to nearly 60 lakh farmers in Telangana State. He said that Rythu Bandhu’s assistance to the tune of Rs.65,000 crores has been provided so far.

KTR participated in the face-to-face program with the farmers organized by the Kakatiya SandBox in Nizamabad town. Speaking on this occasion, he said that 46, 000 ponds have been restored in the last eight years. Kaleswaram, the world’s largest irrigation project, was built in a very short time, he informed. He said that 45 lakh acres were being irrigated abundantly.He reminded that in 2014 only 68 lakh tonnes of grain was grown in Telangana and by 2022 it reached the level of growing 3.5 crore tonnes. He said that with the encouragement of the government, Vijaya Dairy, which was in losses, turned into a profit. He said that oil palm cultivation would provide long-term income sources to the farmers. He said that the government was moving ahead with the target of expanding oil palm cultivation to 20 lakh acres. It is stated that the government was encouraging food processing units. (INN)
