Hyderabad: The Telangana Legislative Assembly passed the Panchayat Raj Act Amendment Bill on Saturday.
The State Government has proposed amendments to the Panchayat Raj Act for the formation of six new Gram Panchayats in the State. Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao introduced the bill in the Assembly on Friday and the House passed it on Saturday.
With this, Bhadrachalam, Sitaramnagar, Shantinagar in Bhadrachalam Mandal, Sarapaka in Burgampadu Mandal, ITC in Asifabad district and Rajampet in Asifabad district will be made Gram Panchayats.Apart from this, the Assembly unanimously passed the Agricultural University Act Amendment Bill as well.
