Revanth promises women empowerment if Congress wins the next elections

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MP A. Revanth Reddy’s “Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra” entered its 14th day on Wednesday.

Today, Revanth Reddy began his yatra from Tirumalapur in the Bhupalpally Assembly constituency, where he addressed a series of corner meetings and criticized the BJP government at the Centre and the BRS government in Telangana for their wrong policies.

During his address, Revanth Reddy talked about various issues, including the empowerment of women, reservation for women in politics and the plight of farmers and the poor in the State. He claimed that the Congress party had made DWCRA associations for women to ensure their economic empowerment. It also brought about a Constitutional amendment to give political reservations for women. He also condemned Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for neglecting women in the cabinet in 2014 and neutralizing DWCRA groups in the State.

The TPCC Chief promised that if Congress came to power, women would be provided loans at zero interest. Further, he said that the next Congress Govt would construct double-bedroom houses for the poor, waive off crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh in a single take and fill 2 lakh government vacancies in the first year. He also announced that the Congress Govt would provide a cylinder of Rs. 500. He said that the next Congress Govt would have four ministerial posts.Revanth Reddy also highlighted the issue of law and order in the state and criticized the government for not taking appropriate action in cases of violence against women and children.
