TS government implementing many schemes for women: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Finance Minister Harish Rao praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for implementing various welfare schemes for women while laying the foundation stone for the integrated market complex in Sangareddy.

The event was attended by MLA Kranti Kiran, TS IMDC Chairman Errolla Srinivas, Handloom Cooperative Chairman Chinta Prabhakar, and Collector Sarath.

Minister Harish Rao highlighted the government’s efforts to support the welfare of women through initiatives such as Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, Arogya Lakshmi and KCR Kit. These schemes provide financial assistance, nutrition, and other necessary support for women, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. He added that 83 per cent of deliveries in Sangareddy district take place in government hospitals, which have improved significantly in recent years.

To further promote maternal health and reduce maternal mortality, the government will provide nutrition kits containing necessary nutrients for mothers starting in April. These kits will be distributed twice a year to 6 lakh pregnant women across Telangana. Additionally, the government is providing safe drinking water to women in every household through the Mission Bhagiratha program.Minister Harish Rao also mentioned that the government has established 46 women’s residential colleges to provide quality education and will be constructing Gram Samakhya buildings in the coming days. The government also plans to start about 100 women’s hospitals and launch the Arogya Mahila program on Women’s Day. (INN)
