Complete the Mana Basti Mana Badi works soon: Talasani

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has directed the officials to speed up the work of Mana Basti-Mana Badi and complete it by May.

A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the minister on the development works of government schools undertaken in the first phase as part of the Mana Basti- Mana Badi program at Keshav Memorial School in Narayanguda on Saturday.

On this occasion, he said that it was the aim of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to provide education in a pleasant environment for the students by providing facilities and infrastructure in the government schools. He said that Rs 3,497 crores have been released for the program so far.  With these funds, the construction of compound walls, painting of buildings, electricity, supply of drinking water, and construction of toilets, furniture, and green chalkboards were being carried out in schools.

While there are 690 schools in 15 constituencies of Hyderabad district, in the first phase 239 schools have been identified for development work and Rs. 44 crores has been allocated, the minister informed. It is explained that the works have been undertaken only in 198 schools so far.These works have also been taken up by the public sector organizations such as GHMC, TSMIDC, TSEWIDC and TSRIC. Home Minister Mahmood Ali, Government Whip Prabhakar Rao, MLC Surabhi Vanidevi, MLAs Danam Nagender, Kaleru Venkatesh and others participated in the review. (INN)
