GHMC issues notices to shops, malls

Hyderabad: GHMC officials have issued notices to many hospitals and malls that are functioning in violation of fire safety regulations.

Notices have been issued to hospitals, commercial complexes, warehouses, cylinder stores, pharmaceuticals, plastic and rubber shops. Notices have been issued to about 23 shops and malls in the city.

Some of the prominent establishments which were served notices include Bajaj Electronics, Secunderabad Shoppers Stop and Minerva Complex in Ameerpet, Reliance Smart in Chandrayangutta, NTPC Building in Kavadiguda and Tulsi Hospital in ECIL. Notices were given to keep the emergency doors open in the cellar. EVDM director Prakash Reddy warned that if everything was not fixed in three days, these shops and hospitals would be shut down. (INN)
