Somesh Kumar takes charge as Chief Advisor to CM KCR

Hyderabad Former chief secretary Somesh Kumar took charge as Chief Advisor to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday.

He took charge of the office and chamber allotted to him in the Secretariat. Secretariat staff congratulated Somesh Kumar on this occasion. It is known that the government issued an order on Tuesday appointing Somesh Kumar as Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister. He will continue in this position for three years.

Somesh Kumar is a 1989 batch IAS officer. He worked in various capacities including Anantapur Collector in united Andhra Pradesh during his service. He served as Commissioner of GHMC after the formation of Telangana. After that, he served as Principal Secretary of Tribal Welfare and in 2016 as Principal Secretary of the Excise Department. Later he was promoted as Special Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department. He was appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Telangana Government in 2019.In January this year, the High Court ruled that he was an officer of the AP cadre. After that, DoPT transferred him to AP. Later, Somesh Kumar applied for voluntary retirement. (INN)
