UAE-based Lulu Group set to launch its first Mall & Hypermarket in Hyderabad soon

Hyderabad: UAE-based retailer Lulu Group is all set to make its entry in Telangana with the opening of its first Lulu Mall and Lulu Hypermarket in Hyderabad.

The mall, which is being re-branded from Manjeera Mall, will be located in Kukatpally and will have a total area of 5 lakh square feet. It will host a mega Lulu Hypermarket, more than 75 local and international brands, a 5-screen cinema with a seating capacity of 1,400, a multi-cuisine food court, and a children’s entertainment centre. The mall is expected to generate employment for more than 2,000 people.

The highlight of the mall will be the 200,000 square feet Lulu Hypermarket, which will offer an extensive range of fresh produce and grocery. It will also have separate sections for fashion, home appliances, electronics, mobiles, IT, and lifestyle products under the brand names Lulu Fashion Store and Lulu Connect. There will also be special sections to support and promote the local Telangana-based agricultural and trade sectors.

The mall is likely to be inaugurated in August 2023.

In addition to the mall, Lulu Group has also announced plans to invest Rs. 200 crores in an export-oriented modern integrated meat processing plant at Chengicherla. The plant will have a production capacity of 60 tonnes per day and will generate employment for more than 2,500 people. Commercial operations at the plant are expected to start in the next 18 months.

Over the next five years, Lulu Group plans to invest a total of Rs. 3,500 crore in Telangana. This includes plans for a destination shopping mall in Hyderabad with an investment of Rs. 2,000 crore and mini malls on the outskirts of Hyderabad and other major cities and towns in the state with an investment outlay of Rs. 1,000 crores.

Lulu Group also plans to set up an agriculture sourcing and logistics hub near the Hyderabad Airport to facilitate exports and promotion of local Telangana produce across India and the world. The group also plans to set up a seafood procurement and processing centre to support the fishing industry.

Hyderabad is the sixth city in India where Lulu Group will have a presence. The group already has hypermarkets and malls in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Coimbatore.With over 250 hypermarkets and 24 shopping malls across 22 countries, Lulu Group is one of the largest retailers in the world.
