TS Govt constitutes Cabinet Sub-Committee for new districts

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government on Wednesday constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee on creation of new districts in the State.

The five member committee will be headed by Deputy Chief Minister (Revenue) Md. Mahamood Ali. The other members are Deputy CM (Education) Kadiyam Srihari, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, R&B Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao and Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao.

The Special Chief Secretary to Government of Revenue Department will be the Convener of the above Committee. The CCLA will act as Secretary to the Cabinet Sub-Committee.

“The Cabinet Sub-Committee shall inter alia make specific recommendation on the following items: (a) Number of Districts; (b) Interim arrangements for functioning of districts; (c) Infrastructural arrangements including office accommodation; (d) Recommend guidelines for employees allocation among zones and any further suggestions on zonal system under Presidential orders; (e) Suggest broad guidelines for reorganizing departments for the new districts and (f) Any other specific issues the Committee may determine,” said the GO issued by Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee has been asked to submit the report within a week. (INN)
