Forest minister pays tributes to Adivas heroes

Hyderabad: Forest Minister Indrakaran Reddy has rightly said that World Adivasi Day is being celebrated as a mark of their struggles. Adivasis have been struggling for centuries for their rights and recognition. They have faced discrimination and oppression from the dominant communities. However, they have never given up and have continued to fight for their rights.

Indrakaran Reddy said that the Telangana Govt has taken several measures to improve the lives of Adivasis. They include Distribution of Podu land titles; Construction of pucca houses; Provision of basic amenities like electricity, water, and roads; Improvement of education and healthcare facilities; Promotion of traditional art and culture and empowerment of women.

“These measures have helped in improving the lives of Adivasis in Telangana. However, there is still more work to be done. Adivasis continue to face discrimination and marginalization. The government needs to do more to ensure that Adivasis have equal opportunities and that their rights are protected,” he said adding that World Adivasi Day is a reminder of the struggles of Adivasis and the need to continue working for their rights. It is also a day to celebrate the culture and heritage of Adivasis, he said. (INN)
