Telugu film industry bags 11 National Film Awards, CM KCR congratulates winners

Hyderabad: The Telugu film industry has once again made its mark at the National Film Awards, bagging a total of 11 awards. The awards were announced by the Union government on February 21, 2023.

Allu Arjun won the National Best Actor award for his performance in the film Pushpa: The Rise. This is the first time that a Telugu actor has won the National Award for Best Actor.

The film RRR also won six awards, including Best Film, Best Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Supporting Actor (Samuthirakani), Best Cinematography (Senthil Kumar), Best Editing (A Sreekar Prasad), and Best Sound Design (Resul Pookutty).

Other Telugu films that won awards include Uppena (Best Feature Film in Telugu), V (Best Special Effects), and Jersey (Best Music Direction).

Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrashekhar Rao congratulated the winners of the National Film Awards. He said that he was happy that the Telugu film industry had once again won the hearts of the people of India. He congratulated Allu Arjun for winning the National Best Actor award and said that it was a proud moment for the Telugu film industry.

He also congratulated the RRR and Pushpa film teams for their hard work and dedication. He said that their films had set a new benchmark for Telugu cinema and that they would continue to inspire future generations of filmmakers.

The National Film Awards are the highest film awards in India. They are awarded annually by the Government of India to recognize excellence in Indian cinema. The awards were first presented in 1954.The Telugu film industry has a long and rich history. It has produced some of the most popular and critically acclaimed films in India.
