Nizam Sagar Project receives heavy inflow

Hyderabad: Heavy rains in the combined Nizamabad district have caused flooding in the Sriram Sagar Project and Nizam Sagar Project. The authorities are releasing 12,000 cusecs of water into the Godavari River through 4 gates of the Sriramsagar project. The full water level of the project is 1091 feet, but it has now reached 1090.8 feet.

The flood flow has also increased in the Nizam Sagar project. 2500 cusecs of water are coming into the project, and the water level has reached 1,403.7 feet. The full water level of the project is 1405 feet. The maximum water storage capacity of Nizam Sagar is 17.8 tmcs, and it currently has 16 tmcs of water in storage.The authorities are monitoring the situation closely and will release more water if necessary. They have also advised people living in low-lying areas to be on alert. (INN)
